Chip from Yuma, Arizona submitted this review on December 28th 2010 at 03:35 PM. Chip is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:Strong motor, good size tires, breaks down for transport.
Weaknesses:Poor construction and design. Tires are pneumatic and can be punctured by thorns. After two years the scooter was shot. I weigh 265 lbs and scooter was not really able to handle my weight. Seat was worn out, motor was whining, and suspension was bent. The batteries are very hard to remove as compared to other manufactures.
Comments:I won't buy this scooter again.

Chip from Yuma, Arizona submitted this review on January 26th 2009 at 04:21 PM. Chip is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:Plenty of power for climbing hills, good range, and the turning radius is good for the size of scooter.
Weaknesses:Too long, needs to have the foot space more forward or seat more backward so that legs are not folded so much, had to shim the seat so that it didn't tip forward, had bolt ends sticking out of the bottom that caught on things as the scooter was loaded/unloaded from my truck, weak design (the scooter makes a lot of squeeking noise when I move around in the seat), not that easy to disasseble/reassemble, no lights, and many more.
Comments:I have had this scooter for less than two years and it has been a secondary scooter for me, so it has not been used full time. The seat back is all worn out from loading/unloading it from my car. The axle unit has been replaced because the brake mechanism stopped working (under warranty). The power unit is making a loud whining noise (not covered under warranty because it is still working). Both the onboard and off board charger units have stopped working. The tiller locks up if turned too far to either the left or right and I have to kick the tire to free it. The tiller adjustment setting I prefer has either broken or is worn and I am forced to put it at a different position. It is very hard to assemble the disassembled scooter in low light (like a parking lot) or by feel. The current repair estimate to fix everything listed here is about $2500, none of it covered under warranty. It seems like too much has gone wrong with this scooter for such limited use. I do not plan to replace it with the same brand.

Strengths:Good power,Climbs steep grade,Light weight,very stable.
Small charger size makes for easy transporting.
Weaknesses:Wheel base could be 6 to 8 Inchs shorter with foot placement farther out. Not Buss friendy to long.
Comments:If I was have to buy another scooter I would buy same scooter wall worth the money. I go back and forth to work on Solo 4 about 8 miles a day round trip 6 days a week on grass, sidewalks, hills and road surfaces an I wieght in at 249 LBS.
