Strengths:Extremely sturdy, very quick, batteries last all day at amusement park or convention center. NO problems with electrics at all, very reliable and bone simple to operate. LOVE the 3 lights on the front. Goes over gravel, grassy fields and certainly zips down the sidewalk without any hesitation on any surface.
Weaknesses:I thought it would ride smoother with the shocks and springs on each wheel, but it's not like it's harsh, just not as smooth as I thought it would be. This scooter goes ANYWHERE I ask it to. On public handicap walkways/ramps with switchbacks, you have to do a three way turn to make the tight u-turn corners because the turning radius is large. This is something you get used to, and as long as no one is right behind you, you can make these turns fairly easily and quickly.
Comments:LOVE my Pride Legend XL. It's a sharp looking unit, looks as sturdy as it feels, and runs circles around other more flimsy looking units.

Comments:We had this scooter for 3 years when it stopped working. We took it to the dealer where it was purchased. Dealer said it needed a new controller and parts and labor would be over $1000. We paid them the diagnostic fee of $65 and ordered the part ourselves and installed. Total cost with tax and shipping $403. This did not fix the scooter. Since I am a engineer I decided to trouble it myself. Their are no schematics or trouble shooting guides on line. We called the company and they refused to provide or sell any type of documentation. The only thing they did was give us the telephone number of another dealer. Needless to say that is the last Pride Mobility Scooter we will ever purchase.

Kat from Albuquerque, NM USA submitted this review on May 8th 2010 at 06:36 PM. Kat is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:This scooter looks gorgeous, and has a great lighting package. It's also well balanced for going onto gravel.
Weaknesses:This scooter is amazingly fragile. Not only did the front light break but it doesn't meet the weight requirements stated. I only weigh 250 but the scooter dies when I sit on it and use it. The batteries are fine, the tires are fine, it's fully charged and it goes about a foot. It's been repaired dozens of times.
Comments:I would NOT recommend this product for anyone who needs to turn either. This is just a bad scooter.

Strengths:good frame and body good suspension and very comfortable captain seat
Weaknesses:electic componets kept burning out ie;for driver controls and direction signal levers batteries are really expensive . the product was faulty from the start and i must have spent nearly 2,000 in repairs to amend the situation. i was let down a lot by the scooter as i was ready to go out only to find my scooter hadn't charged so i was left inside my home unable to go out as this is my only means of escape.and it's the only thing i have to make me independent
Comments:i was expecting a lot more from this scooter considering the price i had to pay.

Barbara from Union Beach, NJ USA submitted this review on June 17th 2005 at 01:44 PM. Barbara is an end user who has one to six months of experience with the product.
Strengths:Lots of stability and power! I used to have a Rascal 4-wheeler. The rascal used to wobble when I got on (I'm a BBG at 300+) but not the Legend XL. I drive it everywhere on the streets, taking it into stores, to the beach, etc. and I am extremely pleased.
Weaknesses:I would like a little more room to stretch out my legs. I have post polio syndrome and my legs tend to cramp up when I can't stretch out. But I had the power lift chair installed, so I can boost up the seat and change positions of my legs that way. The legend XL, being one of the largest models is a little harder to manage in tight spaces, but you get used to driving it quickly.
Comments:This scooter has changed my life...giving me the confidence of a strong vehicle to travel about independently. The customer service connected with the scooter is outstanding. Best investment I ever made!!!

Michael from Montgomery Alabama submitted this review on May 7th 2005 at 08:13 PM. Michael is an end user who has one to six months of experience with the product.
Strengths:Well built frame and stylish. Very easy to use. Batteries are relatively inexpensive, fairly light weight and easy to replace (as compared to my previous scooters which use group 24 car batteries). Fast and powerful. Electric seat lift and reclining seat with adjustable width armrests are great features, not found on most other scooters.
Weaknesses:Fiberglass body parts need improvement. They tend to crack over time. I've had a recurring problem with burned-out control boards (three of them) but these have been replaced free of charge by dealer.
Comments:MOst legroom of any scooter I've used. I'm 6'-2", 300 # and need lots of space. Powerful motors will let chair "pop a wheelie" if the throttle is really cranked up.

Strengths:GOOD RUN TIMES, I weigh 340 ansd it has handled hills at Dollywood park, is easily loaded into a van by the wife and fits most elevators.
Weaknesses:due to 400 # capacity, its hard to manuver in tight areas
Comments:So far it is as good or better than I expected,
