Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Comments:I am an electronics(AA), computer(MSCE), A/C(608/609) and automotive technician(ASE)

I have now looked at three different Jazzy 1113 ATS Chairs with a controller by Pg Drives Technology LTD.

The purported failure in each case was worn out batteries.

In each case the failure was Pride using undersized bolts to connect the battery to the electrical harness. The bolts used are half the size they should be, and allow excessive movement of the harness lugs, leading to failure of the connection and intermittent power failure, poor charging, and premature battery failure. Something they charge $500.00 to repair.

I have now sold two replacement packs for under $120 each, and charged $120 for service three times, costs that owners should not have had to pay Pride would use the correct size bolts.

Check the wiring harness connections at the battery terminals, make sure the bolts are sized correctly, save yourself a headache and a hole in your wallet.

Kathy from Wisconsin submitted this review on September 30th 2008 at 05:35 PM. Kathy is an end user who has over five years of experience with the product.
Strengths:Great turn radius; I can get it through some very tight spaces. Joy stick is easy to use. I like the back pocket on the captains chair. The foot plate is sturdy. The battery charge lasts about 2 days with a 10 hour charge and being used at home. It has worn well after a full +5 years. It looks great and I get a lot of compliments on the chair.
Weaknesses:The foot plate had to be rigged with a strap and hook to allow me to keep it up when I transfer. I am a tall woman (5'10") and the chair really is a bit small for me. I have to fold my legs up to much on the foot plate and the joy stick had to be moved way out for me to be comfortable using it. The chair no longer works for me because I am bound to it more than before. It is a better chair for occasional use and for people who will be transfering to other furniture chairs or standing more often.
Comments:Over the last 5 years:
I have had 3 sets of batteries (every 18 months as normal).
I have had the face of the joy stick replaced once.
I have a small tear in the seat and the arm rests are getting flat.
I have had 2 sets of tires (also normal wear).
The bottom of the foot plate is scratched from going down curb cutouts and ramps that dipped to low.
I wish I had gotten the lights package. There were more times than I can count when I wished I'd had lights.

Lynn from Rice, Texas USA submitted this review on June 15th 2008 at 07:45 AM. Lynn is an end user who has over five years of experience with the product.
Strengths:The unit has sufficient weight for the feeling of stability, but the individual parts are reasonably light enough for disassembly if necessary. The control joy stick, all electronics, and the construction of the 1113 Jazzy are dependable in constant usage.
Weaknesses:The 1113 Jazzy is just a little bit hard to handle in an outdoor environment, but not impossible
Comments:I have had and used my 1113 Jazzy for over 8 years and the only complaint that the upholstery is wearing out. I would recommend the chair overall

Delmar from Cataula, GA, USA submitted this review on October 10th 2007 at 01:11 PM. Delmar is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:I have had this chair since 2001. I have used it daily for the past 2 1/2 years as I have become unable to walk. Battery life is good with daily charging. I have wore one set of tires and casters completly out and replaced them and the chair works great! This is one mean machine. Plenty of power, easy to manuver, turns on a dime and gives change.VERY DURABLE!!!
Weaknesses:Hard to break down although you can. Best to transport as a complete unit.
Comments:I Highly RECCOMEND THIS CHAIR!!!

Strengths:Easy to operate and gets around narrow hallways. Good on inclines. Peppy.
Weaknesses:I would point out that you sit very low in this chair. Also this chair is for inside use, not outside use but it is not the newer 1113 ATS version.
Comments:I bought this chair second hand to use until I can get a new chair. Still runs although it's about 9 years old. Great service from Pride tech when I called.

Strengths:Turning radius
Weaknesses:
Comments:I purchased this model to use in my home, it is fantastic in tight small places. Also, took it on a 10 day Cruise and it handled like a jewel on the ship, in ports, and the airlines simply had us disconnect the battery. I have ALS, am unable to walk and this model has given me my freedom back. I haven't found one thing that dislike about the model.

Weaknesses:I need more power. It goes real slow. I have trouble with the battery. It doesnt keep it charge
Comments:I need a power chair with more power. I can not walk. I need a powerchair that i can depentable on.
