Strengths:• This chair is crazy light!
• Rear axle center of gravity adjustability is easy.
• I like the larger size tubing, it fits great in my hand for transfers and pulling the chair in and out of my car.
• Very smooth ride with no noticeable frame flex.
• Standard Spinergy LX Wheels... sure it's built into the price, but it's nice that they went with a high end wheel instead of putting on a crap wheel to make the price seem smaller.
• I love the look of the magnesium welds... it has the 'stacked nickel' look like high end aluminum mountain bikes.
• Attention to quality and details.
• The custom fit is perfect!
• The ability to customize just about anything on the chair.
• Though a bit daunting, I like that I could choose from 6500 colors!
• The people at Lasher Sport are always so friendly and easy to work with.
• Did I mention how light the chair is?
Weaknesses:After almost 3 years of use I haven't had a single problem. I did have a worn caster bearing that was freezing up, but when I called Lasher Sport to find out what I needed to replace them with, they sent me a new set of bearings for both casters via FedEx 2nd day air... for free!
Comments:Regarding a previous poster's comments-

Of course the backrest doesn't lock... it says so on the order form. I actually prefer it. I've been pushed a couple times, but my body keeps the back from folding. Haven't had any issues being pulled up stairs either.

The bottom "strings" are actually nylon cords. I'm 200 pounds and after almost 3 years in the chair I haven't had a single upholstery issue... to include the nylon cords on the tension seating. Personally, I think it's a great design.

I think you're used to the welds on a titanium chair that are very tiny. Aluminum and magnesium chairs have a 'stacked nickel' look... what you call "blobs". I love the way it looks.

My chair took 4 months to deliver. My last chair (a TiLite) took 5 months. I'm willing to wait for quality and I understand they are the 'little guy' and it might take a bit longer.

Home made??? Yeah, in that a Ferrari looks home made.

I've found the customer service to be exceptional. I love that I can talk to the owners whenever I want... I even have the owner's personal cell number. Try that with one of the big manufacturers!

My next chair will be an Mg now that I have this chair all dialed in. I'm also planning on ordering their new off road handcycle... that thing looks awesome!

Keep up the great work Lasher Sport... you've got a customer for life!

Tracy from Florida, USA submitted this review on October 20th 2010 at 12:51 PM. Tracy is an end user who has six months to a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:Very light weight.
Weaknesses:The backrest does not lock (if you were to have someone push you up a curve/hill, you will be pushed forward, if not out of your chair).

The bottom sling is tied with strings - another liability.

The right wheel slides back and forth a little because the inner shaft was not made properly.

The chair looks so homemade! All the welded parts have excess blobs all around it.

It takes more than 6 months for them to deliver the chair.

They are super nice when inquiring and ordering, but after that, they change their tone. And after you receive your chair, forget about customer service - you will be given the cold shoulder.
Comments:I would not recommend others to purchase this chair, unless the extra pounds off your existing chair is absolutely necessary.

What I have learned in this process: Order from a Mom & Pop store, you get Mom & Pop homemade goods. Order from a big well known company, you get the professional service and quality products every time with no surprises. Do your research.

Strengths:extremeley light weight,D's locks are fantastic, the design or the magnesium makes for a smooth ride for a rigid chair without shocks, along with the glance wheels its not bad on the eyes either
Weaknesses:For a small guy,the glance {swish} wheels were heavier than I thought but I'm getting used to getting them in & out of the car.
Comments:commenting on another rating. the footrest ajustment is just like the five rigid chairs I have had.I do not have a clue about ugly backrest flaps, try tucking it under the chair the way it was designed too.My only beef was it took longer to get than projected.

Corry from Hobe Sound, FL USA submitted this review on May 29th 2008 at 08:09 PM. Corry is an end user who has less than a month of experience with the product.
Strengths:Custom look, Frog legs, spinergy wheels and titanium bolt and screws. It is a very light wheelchair.
Weaknesses:The design:
1. There are not any hardware to prevent the back from get pushed forward.2. The adjustable bottom is not durable. 3 The upholstery for the backrest have extra ugly flaps in the bottom of the back rest.
Comments:For the highest price in the market of ultra light wheelchair, the design was bad.
The design:
1. There are not any hardware to prevent the back from get pushed forward. My whole body got push forward when somebody else pushing the wheelchair on the steep inclines.
2. The adjustable bottom is not durable, because the string will get worn out with time and weather. It will be very dangerous if the string broke.
3. The adjustable backrest is hard to adjust for someone that has limited hand function. I do not have limited hand function and it is very hard for me to adjust.
4. The upholstery for the backrest should be attached to the top of the seat, so it does not have extra ugly flaps in the bottom of the back rest. (“The current design” attached the flaps under the seat and you have to have extra at the back bottom of your backrest in order for the backrest to be folded)
I really like the fact that you can customize the look of the wheelchair, but I was really disappointed with the design. I hope it will improve in the future.

Ian James from NJ submitted this review on April 30th 2007 at 02:10 PM. Ian James is an end user who has one to six months of experience with the product.
Strengths:This chair is incredible. Foremost, it is COMPLETELY customizable... your options are limited only by your ingenuity, imagination, and creativity.

The chair is designed for you, not simply adjustable to fit you like assembly line chairs. Lasher takes NO shortcuts in fabrication, unlike high-volume manufacturers that need to consider production time, costs, and automation.
The design has no points of failure. There are no parts that you need to worry about replacing over heavy usage because the chair is intelligenly engineered. The factory chairs I have had all had a few things I look at with disappointment and think "this chair would be better if it were changed in some way..." Lasher's chair is flawless.

One of the most amazing aspects of this chair is the weight. I cannot possibly explain how deceiving it is to lift this chair. While sitting in my Quickie, I can grab the cross-member under the seat of my Lasher and lift it with one arm nearly effortlessly over my head. When you take the wheels off, the frame is unbelievably light (8.4 pounds). Transfer in and out of a 2 door coupe several times a day... when I break this chair down, it is so small and light that I cannot compare it to my Quickie, my Invacare, nor my Ti because they are not even in the same league as my Lasher.

The magnesium alloy used is stronger than the titanium chairs I've been in (zero frame flex compared to the ZRA and my Quickie Ti Titanium). Because of the strength to weight ratio, Lasher is able to use a larger tube for the frame which is for me is much more ergonomic when grabbing the frame for transfers, pressure relief, support while lifting objects, etc. and allows for a more rigid frame than any of the other cantilever frames I've tried. Beyond the durability and strength, it weighs in 5.4 pounds lighter than my quickie!!
Weaknesses:I challenge anyone to find a flaw or weakness, you will find none.
Comments:This chair is incredible. This is my 4th chair, I've been in Invacare Titanium Terminator, Quickie Ti Titanium, and TiLite ZRA. I am a very active para, and I punish my chairs in the gym. I found Lasher's designs flawless. I am VERY critical and there is not one thing I would change if I were designing my own wheelchair. The fit is perfect, the chair is comfortable, much more stable than any chair I have been in... no frame flex, no vibration, no parts that continually need to be re-adjusted or tightened. The chair was perfect right out of the box, I put my cushion on it and it has performed flawlessly for me since.

I would HIGHLY suggest this chair... once you know what you want, have been in a chair long enough to find what dimmensions are comfortable for you... work with Lasher to design YOUR chair for you. This chair will turn heads and impress you from day one on... I am saving up for another one, because I know I will NEVER want to use my back-up chair (Quickie TI Titanium) after using my Lasher chair.
