Strengths:Easy to maintain. Easy to ride. Strong and rigid frame do well on not-so-well maintained city streets. The mountain gear makes going up hills a great upper-body workout, but it is possible. Front end steering is easy to master and with a little planning you can negotiate almost any turn.
Weaknesses:I have noticed no known weaknesses at this time. I have broken down the bike several times for tuning up and basic maintainance and there are no wear patterns on the third member at this time.
Comments:A really good hand-bike and for the price I believe it is one of the best!

Lynn from Placerville, California, USA submitted this review on January 13th 2010 at 08:22 PM. Lynn is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:stout (6000 series military grade aluminum); adaptable to modifications; easily maintained; designed to cruise - not to race; price!; breaks down for shipping; welds are strong and clean; superior finish
Weaknesses:wide turn radius
Comments:Intrepid Equipment CEO, Graham Butler, and Placerville's Golden Spoke Bike Shop owner, Rufus Watts, helped me make considerable modifications to the bike: Shimano shifter mounted on crank rather than column; brake-mounted crank handle; park brake mounted on column rather than under the seat; relocating disc brake and shifter cables to avoid approaching chain; replace coax cables with longer wind to enhance movement. I have used the cycle in numerous 5K, 10K, 25K and 30K events. It performs great, as long as you understand that it is not intended to be a speed machine. It is a cruiser - and a great one.
