Rob from Fayetteville, NC, USA submitted this review on January 27th 2014 at 10:36 AM. Rob is an end user who has over ten years of experience with the product.
Strengths:Stability when weight is distributed both forward and backwards.
Lateral stability when weight is far left or right of center.
Endurance is satisfactory under on and off road conditions.
The TiLite TX has worked well when I have built in excess of 200 wheelchair ramps (wood), installed innumerable bricks, countless railroad ties, deck boards and handrails while confined to the TiLite TX w/c.
Weaknesses:Given those descriptions above comes broken frame, xtubes and field repairs. TiLite has accommodated warranty repairs and when needed the Ti Rep person.
A problem as of late with the new (2013) TX Xtubes/Hinges causes the seat rails not to sit into the frame saddles which weakens the chairs structural integrity for lack of rigidity.
Comments:I generally get between 2 and 5 years of use from the TiLite TX before repairs are needed. I clean and service the chair every 6 months and replace front 6" pneumatic tires every 6 weeks and rear 24" Pneumatic tires every 4-6 months.
If TiLite can advise or remedy the seat rail fitting into the saddles, I will look first at the TX when time for replacement.

Joe from Mudville, Closed, USA submitted this review on October 2nd 2010 at 06:23 PM. Joe is an end user who has six months to a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:Light weight, rolls very easy compared to chair it replaced, an OLD Quickie II. A rather "clean" design, so it looks as nice as any chair can. After one year, holding up well, I got the satin finish, so no scratched paint or chips.
Weaknesses:One of camber/axle tubes was not tight, I noticed after about 1 month. Took me a few minutes to figure out what was going on, and then 10 minutes to get it tightened. No big deal, but. Also, I think the bearings in the front wheels need to be replaced already. One front wheel was sticking the day after I was out in the rain.

Right after I got the chair, one of the coated handrims started peeling chunks of coating off. Handled under warranty no problem, so no big deal.

The tension adjustable back is only so so, does not adjust as much as I like.
Comments:I asked for flipup footrests, was told they would not fit. After I got the chair I ordered a set and they fit fine. ????? Like said in another comment, the front castors are further out than needed and when I asked to move them in, Ti would not. My guess is they got sued at some point because some one fell over. After filling out the order form, got a CAD drawing back, VERY NICE, but they stretched the frame by 1 in, for 'stabitlity' reasons, and would not change their minds. That turnd out ok, but the front castors sticking out are an issue still.
On the order form, there was no way to order high pressure 24 1 3/8 tires, so I had to put them on after I got the chair. I do not understand why they do not carry them.

I am overall satisfied with the chair, but I do not abuse them like I die when I was younger. May go rigid next time.

    Strengths:none
Weaknesses:this company does not seem to know what they are doing
Comments:front casters are way offset out to the sides..i am now over 2 inches further (ON BOTH SIDES)from the counter tops in my house...very annoying ...i called them and they offered me zero support...they said this was a winning designe with extended studies on stability or something..complete BS in otherwords...because after a week of using the chair one of the front casters fell off as it was not tightened when they installed them!...this could have been a major problem if this had happened when i was going somewhere out side fast!...how stable is your chair with only one caster you basterds??..
...casters also wobble at 3 mph..also the chair has to be upside down to fold it up if your bcak upholstery is over 12"...kind of hard when your sitting 3+ feet off the ground in my ford f-250 4x4 pickup...back to my quiky chair i go...this one (tilight TX)is for sale CHEAP!!
foot rests suck too...feet always slide off...but the hudge handles on the back upholstry sure like to grab at your clothes with the sticky rubber they put on there...cut those off first day...brakes rub the wheels also..came with no leg strap...the back straps had to be taken all of because they were not installed properly...they put lock tite on the back handle screws but not on the front casters?...chair does not fld up very small...hardly worth the trouble..30 years of experience in a w/c

Strengths:Light weight, it's taken a beaten and is still relatively tight. This chair is in my opinion top choice for an ultra light weight folder.
    Weaknesses:No complaints
Comments:It aint cheap, but than again nothing of any value is cheap any more.

Nick from kawkawlin, michigan submitted this review on April 29th 2008 at 09:13 PM. Nick is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:Its tough. I live in a mobile home so it takes a beating, though i try to take care of it. ive tipped it over on concrete a few times (being reckless) and i cant hardly tell by looking at it.
Weaknesses:I only have one complaint ang thats the foot plate. It hinges on one side and anytime I run over the dogs toy, it pops out of place. Also as the other review stated, the arm rests are kinda chincy. fortuntely I dont need them.
Comments:All in all I like the chair. it handels good and rides well. I have long legs so the front end is kinda out there but its not too bad.

Brad from Freeland, Washington state, USA submitted this review on August 10th 2007 at 10:16 AM. Brad is an end user who has one to six months of experience with the product.
Strengths:Light weight. Custom built fit to body. Brake locations. Handling. Appearance. Customer service.
    Weaknesses:Arm rests. Foldability. Upholstery.
Comments:Unlike balance of chair, arm rests are adjustable, sloppy and lack full range of adjustment, requiring expensive, custom-machined aluminum mounts. Handles like a rigid unit but very difficult to fold and is wide when folded. Upholstery lifting loop torn on delivery, required restitching. Brake handle locations ideally located. Fit to body excellent.
