Lucy from Birmingham UK submitted this review on October 22nd 2012 at 01:32 PM. Lucy is an end user who has one to six months of experience with the product.
Strengths:Really impressed with the chair, wanted one that was small enough so I could get around easier and be in a safe position in transport vehicles and my chair does this. Not forgetting about the standing feature which is already improving my health. Compact chair, neat design, does everything I was promised it would.
Weaknesses:This chair does not like gravel! I dug myself a pretty big hole at a friends house coming down the ramp of the car. The suspension and traction on the chair can take some sorting out but that's just down to personal preference, once it's sorted you won't want to go back to a chair without it. I do find that sometimes the front wheels protest going up pavement ramps, but with a bit of persuading it makes it.
Comments:Thank you Sam and the team. You can count your first UK sale a success. :)

Joy from Terrell, Texas, United States Texas submitted this review on August 27th 2012 at 01:34 PM. Joy is an end user who has over five years of experience with the product.
Strengths:I have used a Chief 107 ZRX over six years. I recently did a trial run on the newest Redman and was so impressed with ALL the changes! The turn radius and power was incredible! I have taken the Permobile and Pride chairs through the same obstacle course and the Redman is superior. I did steep inclines, curbs, crowns, hairpin turns on narrow sidewalks, and various social obstacles individuals encounter; the Redman PASSED THEM ALL and a bonus I was not exhausted upon completion! The ability to angle the seating in back down and the change in the mechanics when the legs are extended so the hips and back adjust according to the individualís size and abilities has been fine tuned. Overall Redman is meeting every need of the customer not only the current but any possible future needs as well. The Redman Administration and staff obviously strive for EXCELLENCE!
Weaknesses:The only thing that still causes me any problem probably is an overall stength and that is the weight of the chair. I am limited sometimes where I can go and what I can do with the weight of the chair combined with my weight. In the hospital and various transportation venues I can not always use my chair because of the weight.
Comments:I am elated with ALL the improvements on the Redman. I was happy with the chair to begin with but the efforts of Redman to continue to strive and perfect the products have genuinely increased in the past several years! I look forward to seeing what they do next! Also, I am still using the original batteries with my chair; I have replaced the tires twice so you know it has been well traveled!

Joan from Suisun City, Calif. USA submitted this review on February 23rd 2012 at 06:07 PM. Joan is a care giver who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Comments:Revised, I failed to mention that this chair has also broke down at the clinic where my client was having a sonogram, so she was in the lay back position (another attractive feature), when going to the up position it would not raise. Since the manual levers are under the chair and no power to raise the chair, it was extremely stressful. The chair was just about to reach it's 1 year mark, when the battery failed; working with Mike (very helpful), he had me pull the cover off the battery only to find that instead of a fuse where a fuse should have been, it had been replaced with a piece of heavy wire, Mike said this was not right, it turns out that Sam Redman had replaced the fuse with this wire, because he said that the battery would work better. So a new battery was bought (clients expense), Sam stands by his work and that this was the best and only method that he uses for batteries. Also at this time a 1500.00 year warranty was purchased, Sam was out last Sept.2011, to again fix the leg actuator and other parts that were not working correctly, only to be told that the warranty was not going to be honored after this time because it was my clients fault, it turned out that it was a contracted technician (by Redman) that had done some replacement work incorrectly. A request to have someone other than Sam Redman from the company come out and review this chair with my client in it and make an objective observation has been over looked. Every time that Sam has been out he has complained about how my client is misusing this chair, that is her fault and not his or Redman's, what is interesting is that every time Sam comes out more problems arise. (just a thought). Most avenues of help have met with no help, including medicare, and ADA. This is a consumer issue. Shame on Redman co. for taking advantage of those in physical and financial need. The owners should hope that they never have the need for this chair. All my client wants is for Redman to refund the appropriate insurance co's and medicare and allow her to get on with a safe and reliable means of transportation.

Joan from Suisun City, Calif. USA submitted this review on February 22nd 2012 at 04:26 AM. Joan is a care giver who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:
Weaknesses:Since June of 2010 this chair has broken approx 10 times, the leg actuator has broke 7 times, the standing actuator has broken 2 times and the leaning actuator has broken 1 time, presently the leg actuator is broken, and has been since Nov. 2011, the standing actuator broke in Sept. 2011,poor customer service response and a rude manner has made this experience a nightmare. It is now Feb. 2012 and the chair is still not fixed.
Comments:Since the 1st week this chair has been a lemon, FYI, there is an actual lemon law for wheel chairs, too bad we did not know this until recently. The customer service for repairs is lacking in all areas of respect to the customer and product quality. Our experience with Sam Redman in particular,(since he is the only one from the company itself who has ever serviced this chair), he has accused my client of being rough with the chair and not following HIS instructions, and that is why it breaks, Sam Redman has no compassion for the disable. He has been flippant, yelled at me and my client, and the last time he was here in Sept. 2011, not only did he not complete the repair of the chair, he got mad at me and walked out on my client. It is now Feb. almost March of 2012, there has been some weak communication for getting this chair fixed, however Redman powerchair co, has not made a sincere attempt to resolve this matter. We believe that this chair was a reject sent back by someone else, there is no signature of date of verification on the chair to say it has passed inspection. This sticker is found underneath the seat cushion. They maybe have a good line to sell this product but for the disabled it is a true health hazard, with the cost of the chair the customer service repair dept. should learn some manners and be responsible for this product, but they only know how to blame, and it is company wide that the blame is placed on the customer. I do hope you investigate before you would buy, we have had nothing but heart ache and fear of this chair.

Sarah from Sedona, AZ /USA submitted this review on August 18th 2010 at 12:55 PM. Sarah is an end user who has six months to a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:I love my new Black Hawk...actually it's BLUE! It's so great to stand and feel like one of the gang. I lead a very active lifestyle, and the small footprint, quick response and excellent maneuverability are miles ahead of any other chair I test drove. This chair really lets my friends see "me"...not just a chair.
Weaknesses:None in my book!
Comments:The competent and caring staff at Redman, made my decision easy. They are sensitive to my individual needs. The Demo Tech, Mike..helped me to understand the chair, and what it could do for me, and he delivered it too! Customer service was quick to get me a few items that I needed after the delivery and I am very satisfied with my experience.

Delbert from Nekoosa, WI 54457 submitted this review on November 28th 2008 at 11:00 AM. Delbert is an end user who has one to six months of experience with the product.
Strengths:It is quick and agile and once set up correctly is a real treat to ride. It is compact and relatively light. It is easy to load in and out of a vehicle. It is much improved from my first Redman chair and I love the separate reclining and standing controls.
Weaknesses:It is hard to get used to at first with it's very short wheelbase but I have found that to also be an asset once you have conquered its quickness and compactness.
Comments:I love this chair and would recommend this chair to all intelligent people that are only limited by their handicap. It is well designed and backed by a great staff. I have tried many others and they just do not measure up to this wonderful, innovative chair.
