Julie from Nashville, TN submitted this review on November 23rd 2007 at 10:45 AM. Julie is a care giver who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:few. it does stand, it has lots of bells and whistles,
Weaknesses:hard to drive, bulky, drops out when driving company says no problem.
Comments:we stopped using this for our 16 yr old bought him a jet 3 for $200 on ebay. everyone's disability is different this may be perfect for someone else. he never used the stander, never used the assistant's controller and its just too much chair. he does not like the front wheel drive but mainly its just huge and hard to drive compared to others. it is the chairman version. we're selling this one.

Strengths:Love my chair.
Weaknesses:No flat free tire when I bought mine
Comments:Swedish chair but made in the USA. Parts are easy to get too.

Shelley from NC submitted this review on June 30th 2005 at 01:53 PM. Shelley is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:Chair is able to stand, tilt, recline and elevate.
Weaknesses:Bolts falling off, which even Permobil cannot find the origin of. Numerous electrical problems. Frequent power failures. Chair had a complete power failure within minutes of the initial delivery. Refused to purchase the chair and was led to believe that Permobil was bringing a new chair; however, they later brought the old chair back stating it was a new one. I later found out, after numerous problems that Permobil had unloaded the original lemon on me.
Comments:Buyer Beware! This bait and switch could happen to you. I would not trust this company. If they expended as much energy perfecting their product as they do finding ways to deceive people they'd have a great product. There are several other companies that make excellent standing chairs with all the features of the Chairman 2K.

Jeff from Seattle, WA USA submitted this review on July 5th 2004 at 03:50 PM. Jeff is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:The chair is really versatile. I have the seat lift option as well as the stander option. With both options I can reach almost anything I need to. Permobile is a good brand, and they stand behind their product. I had a problem after about six months where several bolts came loose and my seat back fell off, and they fixed it the next business day.
Weaknesses:The chair is like a giant erector set: lots of nuts and bolts that need to be tightened regularly. If not, they come loose and the chair ceases to function. Also, it's huge! My legs don't fit under tables so I have to eat off a lap tray. With the stander option you can't raise your legs without completely reclining, so my legs get stiff.
Comments:Overall, a good chair. With some tweaking (fewer bolts that come loose and a leg lift option) it would be a perfect chair.

idareya from Pittsburgh, PA submitted this review on August 4th 2003 at 12:07 AM. idareya is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:This is my second Permobil product, first was a Chairman Corpus in 1997. Overall, I have to say I have been more pleased than with any other chairs I have owned. Very reliable product. the C2k stander has changed my life. My bones are stronger and muscles not nearly as tight. The chair handles very well in a variety of tight spaces. I purchased the light package and it has masde outdoor mobility much easier and safer.
Weaknesses:Chair had a number of mechanical disasters in the first months. I was the initiator of an international recall onm motors and bolts for the front wheels, but I cannot say enough good things about how theses problems were addressed by both Permobil and my vendor. The transfer height on this chair is a bit high. The lowest I could get was 19 inches. A bit rough for me at 4ft,10in.However the chair is worth the effort.
Comments:If you want a chair that will be practical and reliable, this is a good one. bnuild a good relationship with your vendor. If youy treat the chair well, it will last for years.

Bryan from Chicago, Il. USA submitted this review on July 8th 2003 at 10:21 PM. Bryan is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:Considering all of the moving parts on this chair it hasn't had any structural or electrical problems. The seat is super comfortable and has also held up well and kept it's shape. The chair is responsive and handles very well.
Weaknesses:It's a front wheel drive chair so the back end swings wide on turns. At first I would hit all kinds of things with the back of the chair when turning. It took a little while to get the hang of it. I would like a little more top end speed on the chair.
Comments:It is so nice to be able to stand up. Aside from reaching things it just feels realy good. Prior to getting this chair I hadn't stood up since my accident 7 years ago. I don't think I could ever go back to a chair that didn\\\'t allow me to stand.
