Lisa from NC submitted this review on December 30th 2007 at 09:43 PM. Lisa is a care giver who has one to six months of experience with the product.
Strengths:Encourages proper sitting. Like the pommel. Easy to disassemble for storage in vehicle. Useful for school.
Weaknesses:Rough riding outside. Braking difficult for caregiver. Easy folding arms make arms wobbly during use, though.
Comments:My son's zippie has the low back wheels as he is not able to propel himself, which may be why my opinion differs from others. The brakes are on the arms, but I don't find them easy to use after getting used to strollers. We have a jogger baby stroller that rides much smoother and is much easier to push than this wheelchair. I wish I could have the firm support for my son's posture but on a smoother riding frame -- guess I want the best of both worlds. Fortunately my son tolerates shaking fine, but just going across a parking lot is very bouncy. Wouldn't recommend for someone sensitive to movement. I've only had it a few months and I feel that folding it to put into the van has been rough on it already. My son's teachers feel it is the cadillac of pediatric wheelchairs, but I see room for improvement.

Comments:We have done rear and front wheels over the last 4 years on this wheelchair. It has gotten some pretty tough treatment, and still looks almost brand new! It is lightweight and does fit easily about anywhere. We even managed to store it behind the front seat of a Firebird. We love it, and hope we can get many many more years of use out of it!

Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Comments:We love this chair! It is our first wheelchair for our son but is sooo much easier to use than a bulky stroller. It is lightweight and easy to use in tight places and allows him to move himself around. It is very adaptable and easy to adjust and also folds down nicely to fit in the trunk of the car.
