Nathan from Baldwinville, MA USA submitted this review on February 24th 2010 at 12:18 PM. Nathan is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:Very light.
When compared to my other cushion on a computerized pressure pad at a rehab facility, it was found to relieve more pressure from problem areas and distribute my weight more evenly.
Weaknesses:The pressure valve!!
This is a HUGE issue, as I am on my second one of these cushions in just over a year.
It's made of cheap plastic and breaks very easily resulting in leaking.
Comments:The pressure valve would be better suited to be placed in the rear of the cushion. It's definitely in the way where it is and is prone to breaking.

Texas from Dallas, Tx, USA submitted this review on December 8th 2008 at 12:12 PM. Texas is an end user who has six months to a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:It's LIGHT! Before this cushion I had used a Jay cushion with gel in it for 17 years, the weight difference is huge. It very comfortable and adjustable.
Weaknesses:Not the cushion for less active people with higher chance to develope pressure sores.
Comments:I wish I had found this cushion years ago, I'll be using one for a long time. Everyone comments on the air valve, it is in a bad position, but there really isn't a good position for it. After awhile you get used to it though and it really isn't a bother any longer.

Colin from Williamstown, Vic, Australia submitted this review on November 24th 2008 at 01:29 AM. Colin is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:Light weight and ease of adjustment of cushioning. Really comfortable and stable cushion. Low profile of Zoid is excellent for air travel.
Weaknesses:Air inflation PSV Valve location is in the way of: pushing on brakes, pushing on tires, hand location during transfers.

As suspected (see previous review) valve outside cracked at some time. However, Varilite have a replacement system available that they sent out to fix the problem.
Comments:PSV air release valve would be better located at a rear corner or center rear or front of the cushion so that it would not interfer during transfers, which are multiple each day, versus adjusting air pressure that is at most weekly, (unless accidentally actuivated). For a "Sports" cushion to have such a hard lumpy part in such a location where a trasfer could take off skin is not the best.

Colin from Williamstown, Vic, Australia submitted this review on May 27th 2007 at 11:02 PM. Colin is an end user who has one to six months of experience with the product.
Strengths:Great looking low cushion is easy to slide board transfer onto and adjustability of pressure (no pump required - self inflating) will be especially useful on aircraft travel where I need to sit on a cushion as airline seats now too hard. I can release air to lower level to allow for decreased cabin pressure.
Ultra light weight and waterproof internal cushion are great for in the wheelchair or when I go yachting. Now available with tougher incontinence cover.
Weaknesses:Will have to be careful of the valve at front right (or left) of cushion and to avoid any risk of puncture. If it does deflate it will still give limited protection, but not much - better than a ROHO though. Zipper loop broke. Stitching of zipper and other seams of cushion are not really great quality - I would have expected better for the price!
Comments:Great looking cushion and the fastest way to lose weight of the chair/occupant/cushion combination. It feels too light but seems to be tough enough, especially in thich cover.
