Gwen from Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA submitted this review on October 23rd 2008 at 07:34 PM. Gwen is an end user who has over ten years of experience with the product. | Strengths: | Well designed, and lightweight. Strong doesn't begin to describe this wheelchair. I have owned and used my chair for twenty-three (23) years now. I have only needed to replace pieces such as tires and caster wheels which wore out from normal use. The only other repair work was incurred when an airline destroyed a hub of one wheel, and cracked the frame. Nothing has ever failed due to normal use. | Weaknesses: | After a while, the clothe backing has shown some wear - but it is twenty-three (23) years old! The armrests needed an additional means of support to reduce the play in the original mounts. A minor detail that was easily fixed by adding plates to capture the lower end of the armrest tongues. | Comments: | I am totally satisfied with my Elite. | Durability? | | | Ease of use? | | Meet expectations? | | | Overall Rating:

Melanie from Scotland, UK submitted this review on May 12th 2006 at 10:28 AM. Melanie is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product. | Strengths: | Well built and withstands heavy usage. Good quality parts and washable upholstery. Brakes are especially well designed to be out of the way when transfering. Allows small turning circles in limited spaces. Reasonable appearance. | Weaknesses: | Not worth the expensive cost. Heavy to lift in and out of car. Heavy to push. Tips to easily. Didn't like the seating position after a year of use, despite having adjustable backrest, I started to get a sore back. | Comments: | I am currently using this chair as a spare. I really wouldn't recommend this chair for a full-time user. I will be glad when I can afford to replace it. I much prefer my kuschall k4, it is 1000 times better than this one! | Durability? | | | Ease of use? | | Meet expectations? | | | Overall Rating:

Chris from Gloucestershire, United Kingdom submitted this review on February 28th 2006 at 06:57 AM. Chris is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product. | Strengths: | Bulletproof, Fireproof, Unbreakable, Totally trouble free - (So far, - It's 12+ years old now!). Superlight and very comfortable. Excellent build quality and design so it still looks quite smart. Easy & Cheap to service (once a year on contract). Tracks well as long as castors are set right, (Tendancy to chatter at speed if not). Plenty of adjustment so balance is almost perfect. | Weaknesses: | Castor tyres can come off with severe abuse, especially if they're worn, and the castor adjustment is difficult, but once you get it right, it's right! (haven't touched them for 6 years now) Brakes are useless if the tyres are even just a little soft and can catch your thumbs if you're really pushing "Painful!" | Comments: | I've had this chair so long now I'm always looking for a "new updated" chair. But nothing so far compares. I guess I'll just have to wait for Etac to discover suspension? | Durability? | | | Ease of use? | | Meet expectations? | | | Overall Rating:
