Strengths:Very well ballanced, rugged construction. Excellend traction on slopes and uneven terrain
Weaknesses:Low clearance when equiped with the EZ-lock vehicle restraint pin. Weight.
Comments:This chair gave me back the ability to move about without fear of tipping. I drive around the yard, etc amd with the older quickiep500, I was always concerned over tipping, in fact I had nose dived several times.

Franklin from Roseburg, OR submitted this review on June 4th 2006 at 04:01 PM. Franklin is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:This is a powerful and dependable product. It can do some things that other chairs can not due to its shock absorbent front wheel mechanisms. The twin motor set-up gets you around much faster than necessary but is great fun when on paths with minimal bumpiness. I do a lot of photography and can find many ways to indulge in my hobby due to the chairs off-road capabilities.
Weaknesses:Very powerful chair with smooth operation. While it can be turned around in very small radius, the foot rests, when extended for longer legs like mine, make that maneuver possible in stores and places with broad aisles. It is not as "rough terrain" capable as the sales pitch presents. It must be used in dry or minimal wet surfaces/circumstances. Every potential owner should consider these factors and this last one: weight. These chairs are very heavy weight brutes that challenge most affordable lift options. I use a Bruno "Curbsider" which is rated to lift 400 lbs. My chair tips the scales at 397 lbs. and is hard on the Bruno. I've had my chair for 4 yrs. and the lift for almost for 2 yrs. My hindsight says I should of purchased a bit lighter of a model and not visualized my being able to use the chair on trails. Despite the presence of wheelchair accessible outdoor recreation, I navigate to well paved or gravel surfaces which I would of been able to navigate with a less heavy chair.
Comments:Be very deliberate in your choices of chair and shop around as much as possible. Sales pitch is also something to be wary of (as others have pointed out). Deal with a local provider who comes to your door-step (which I have) to lessen the work on yourself. Think of your home and how you will need to use it there. I have a home built in 1905 with a large living room/dining room which makes my use of my "gorilla" chair practically useless inside. What will be your predominant use and how are your environments able to accommodate your needs. Ramps need to be considered if any part of your everyday world is not a ground level with very minor level transitions.

BRENT from Baton Rouge, La. submitted this review on January 8th 2004 at 04:52 PM. BRENT is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:Very smooth & stable... best suspension I've tried.
Extremely quiet at all speeds, nominal brake 'click'.
Plenty torque, no stalls, crawls like a 4-wheel drive.
No surprises like wheelies or veering ..... programming is precise.
Like the factory no-flats, size & grip.
Nice beefy appearance, like the durable chair it is.
MCs' TRX-tilt & PLRs through-the-joystick is slick.
Weaknesses:Difficult to choose favorite color ;).
Wimpy horn.
Onboard-charger a little difficult to reach [I've switched to using an external charger]
Comments:I've owned different models of almost every major brand.
This replaced an Invacare wGBs, NO comparison [a little less top-end speed but much 'nicer' at full speed].
Only wish for nice, compact light package.

Jim from Ridge, Ny (USA)s submitted this review on January 8th 2004 at 03:17 PM. Jim is an end user who has one to six months of experience with the product.
Strengths:I like the tilt
Weaknesses:No low end power zero torque. Hard to manuver in tight places. Always needs adjustment and tightening. Battery charger already failed after three months and tech. said they haven't any air to cool.
Comments:I have called quantum and they rarely call back. When I moved to Ny I called the 800 number and the girl said they were a factory and couldn't give me the name of the rep. in Ny. I was supposed to get cushioned arm rests and a curved back. When I got the chair I was informed they don't make that back and the rep said he would get after market cushions and never heard from him again. I am getting another chair and it defiantely won't be a quantum.
