Jeremiah from Cleveland, OH, United States submitted this review on February 10th 2009 at 08:53 PM. Jeremiah is an end user who has six months to a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:Thanks to its over-built suspension, it has a smooth ride even with no-flat tires.
Weaknesses:Weak motors; for a chair as large as the Blast Xtreme the motors lack low end torque. Small obstructions can cause it to stall and whip left or right depending on which wheel is encountering the uneven ground.

The electronics (controller) is another let down. No matter how much programming the DME tech does to the controller, it still has a tendency to make the chair either too fast on the high seting or much too slow on the low setting. Why a simple speed knob was not included is anyone's guess. After a short time, the swing-away arm mounting to which the controller attachs gets very lose. In the swept out position the controller is more in your way than ever.

The casters and anti-tips are much too big; causing them to clip doorways, bump walls and furniture. And due to the oversized suspension bar across the front end, the wheelchair won't fit under most office desks or through some doorways.

I cannot believe someone at Pride who uses a wheelchair designed this mechanical monstrosity.
Comments:Thankfully Pride Mobility junked the whole Blast series.

Jim from Wisconsin submitted this review on December 19th 2003 at 09:49 AM. Jim is an end user who has one to six months of experience with the product.
Strengths:Speed & ride.
Weaknesses:Lack of power. Size.
Comments:It has great speed & the suspension works well. It's a big chair, tuff to get around in small rooms and tight areas. It could use some more power.
