Strengths:Gives good posture
Weaknesses:Can create pressure wounds. My wife recently had a significant pressure wound almost three inches wide and two inches deep requiring her to be hospitalized for ten days and has been in bed for six weeks.never had pressure wound on previous cushions after sitting in wheelchair for forty years.
Comments:Company needs to warn customers or improve product and recall any defective ones

Strengths:I have been in a chair since 1986, quad C 6-7, and have never had pressure sore on the bottom. Great cushion!!
Weaknesses:The covers fall apart. Zippers break and sometimes the threads let loose. Takes forever to get replacement. I have been waiting five weeks from my repair shop for new one.
Comments:I probably go through a cover every 18-24 months. They wash easy but hang drying takes forever. I don't have the luxury of two covers. Also the actual cover on the jell cushion is hard to clean after a bowel accident. I have had one jell cushion split on me in 20 years. Let me tell you there is no saving it. The jell gets all over everything. I had to get new seat for my Quickie 2 chair.

Jessie from Elma, WA USA submitted this review on August 25th 2007 at 02:38 PM. Jessie is an end user who has one to six months of experience with the product.
Strengths:comfortable, gel is over the entire length of cushion, rather than just in the back
Weaknesses:VERY HEAVY! Causes sling seats to sag quicker, which makes sitting more uncomfortable. Only for people at low-moderate risk for pressure sores.
Comments:My insurance covered this cushion, because I hadn't had any pressure sores. The first thing I didn't like about is was its weight (over 6 pounds). It has caused me to have to tighten the sling seat on my Quickie GP chair at least once a week. But, this cushion is pretty comfortable and I like that the gel is over the ENTIRE length of the cushion, unlike my Jay Active cushion, that only had gel in the back.

Joshua from Langley, BC, Canada submitted this review on July 9th 2005 at 11:13 PM. Joshua is an end user who has one to six months of experience with the product.
Strengths:The J2 is better than sitting on a metal plate. Did not experience any pressure sores over a two month trial.
Weaknesses:Bottoms out and has difficulty regaining cushion. Found cushion uncomfortable, leading to endless shifting, and a red bottom. Not any better upside down either.
Comments:I am nowhere near 300 lbs, and under 200. Not the only cushion to bottom out on me though.

laurie from canada submitted this review on April 28th 2005 at 09:53 AM. laurie is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:I've used a variety of jay cushions since 1986. no pressure sores in 19 years.
Weaknesses:cushion covers cost a fortune and fall apart. if you wash the inner cushion cover, be prepared to fight to get it untangled the velcro parts stick togeather. the seams tend to rip. and zipper bust out. Not suppose to put it in the dryer. Like anyone has time to wait until the cushion cover drys by air. also if you put it in the dry...expect to see the fluid protection layer come off the cover....making it a bit useless.
Comments:love the cushions HATE the covers....but no pressure sores!

John from GA submitted this review on November 11th 2003 at 04:55 PM. John is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:My first J2 was an everyday cushion from December 1999 to April 2003. I still use it in my spare chair. I've had no pressure sores from this cushion and it helps with my balance. My newest cushion is a J2.
Weaknesses:I'd have to say the weight of the cushion. My cushion is 8lbs. Also after sitting awhile I tend to do a lot of weight shifts/transfers.
Comments:Great cushion for balance. Long lasting.
