Cole from San Francisco, California, United States submitted this review on November 27th 2005 at 10:07 PM. Cole is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:Very light. Very strong. Compact. Good looking.
Weaknesses:Hide-away brakes suck. Very difficult to use and they don't hold well. Caps that cover castor stems, come loose. Lost one through vibration. Does not break down easily. Everyone who has taken it down for me has had some difficulty. Frame is solid and even with the pushwheels removed the front castors can be a problem when putting the chair into a car, backseat or trunk.
Comments:I think this might be a great chair for some one who knows EXACTLY what they need in a custom chair. I bought mine as a floor model so mine isn't measured for me. I've had some problems because of that.

I bought it for working out and I worked out very hard with it. I eventually replaced the castors with 4" FrogLegs machined aluminum. It did chatter at high speed after that but coming down hills fast I needed the additional clearance.

Good looking chair.

Greg from NY, NY USA submitted this review on October 10th 2005 at 03:16 PM. Greg is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:Rock solid chair. in 6yrs of use i've only needed to replace
a snapped axle plate. (due going down stairs from an elevated subway platform, in -20 degree nyc winter) cant really fault the design there.. Frog Legs have lasted this long too..

relativly easy for me to pull into the passenger side of a 2door car as well (back rest folds down on mine), though it is a bit heavy.. my hand fits neatly between the seat canvas and the "V" bars underneath to grab it and one arm it over my lap to the passenger seat.. Note: getting in and out of the car solo 5-6 time a day will wear you out..but you'll have a fat right arm to show for it..

chair handles well for its weight, though i think its more suited to someone w/decent upper body strength for long runs..

(i have the heavy frame double tubes in rear)
Weaknesses:as stated above.. back rest is kinda "loose" after some time.. adjusting it can be a pain.. lock doesnt always lock after time..
but i think thats a given with any chair overtime..
Comments:i'm 25yrs in a chair, since the age of 16. -very active. due to me being in new york city, my chairs get a nasty beating.. hopping curbs left and right & backing down subway stairs solo a few times a month due to dead elevators etc..

I used to snap and/or tweak wheelchair frames about every 2yrs, till i ran into the Pro-T. I'm only about 160lbs soaking wet, so its the enviroment and my habits that break'em..

-not so with the pro-t

if your rough on chairs and/or break'em alot. this
chair is for you, if you dont mind the extra weight)

(and get the frogs legs, well worth it, imo)
Pro-T is a keeper for dealing with NYC.

Jack from Albuquerque, NM USA submitted this review on August 18th 2005 at 05:24 PM. Jack is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:I completely ordered and measured myslef for this w/chair. Perfect fit. Well balanced. Looks good. The best chair I had. Recently went to a Quickie Revolution which can't hold a handle to the Pro-t. Thinking about going back to a Pro-T. Light weight.
Weaknesses:Frame is boxed, harder to pull into the front seat of a truck when needed from the driver's side. The back does not connect and stay in place.
Comments:Overall excellant wheelchair.

Terry from Greenlawn, NY, USA submitted this review on June 26th 2002 at 03:35 PM. Terry is an end user who has over a year of experience with the product.
Strengths:The chair is very durable and has required few repairs.
Weaknesses:The back does not stay in place after you adjust it. It requires constant adjustment. I thought the chair would be lighter than it is.
Comments:I use this chair for daily use. It gets a pretty good beating but has held up well for several years.
